Steps to Find Client ID and Secret Key in Salesforce
You may be asked to complete this step as part of linking an app with your Salesforce instance.
- Log in to Salesforce:
- Open your web browser.
- Go to https://login.salesforce.com.
- Enter your username and password, then click “Log In.”
- Open Setup:
- In the top-right corner, find and click on the small gear icon labeled “Setup.”
- Navigate to App Manager:
In the left-hand menu, find the search box at the top.
Type “App Manager” into the search box.
Click on “App Manager” when it appears in the list.
- Locate Your Connected App:
- A list of apps will appear.
- Scroll down or use the search box to find the app you’re looking for.
- View the App Details:
- Next to the name of your app, look for a small arrow or down-pointing icon at the end of the row.
- Click on this arrow, then select “View” from the options.
- Find Your Client ID and Secret Key:
- On the page that loads, scroll to the section labeled “API (Enable OAuth Settings)”.
- Look for a button that says “Manage Consumer Details.”
- Click this button.
- Authenticate (if required):
Salesforce may ask you to re-enter your login details. Follow the prompts to log in again.
- View Client ID and Secret Key:
- Once authenticated, your Consumer Key (Client ID) and Consumer Secret (Secret Key) will be displayed on the screen.
- Copy/Paste these into the configuration settings on SmallWorld.
- Important: Treat these as passwords and do not share these.
- You’re Done!
- Now your SmallWorld and Salesforce instance should be connected.
